Speak, damit, everyone is listening

I am not writing this to tell you how to vote. I won't even tell you for whom I'm going to vote. (Though I do believe building our own country would be the best thing that could happen to Quebecers, english OR french). I just want to join my voice to that of many others to ask you to vote today. They're all the same and it's all bullshit anyway? Cancel your vote : if enough people do it, the elections will be canceled. Speak out, focrissake, it's the only time for the next 4 years you'll be asked what you think. If you don't want to vote for one of the members of the 33 1/3 club, you won't win your elections... but each vote means more money for that party the next time around.

I'll get sentimental on you now. Be warned, next comes emotionnal blackmail. Please vote, in the name of those who don't have the right to. In memory of those who died so that you and I have that right.

Voting is not just a right, it's a duty.

The Scissor Sisters hit Montreal

Tuesday night at Metropolis, I had the chance to discover the Scissor Sisters! (While I'm at it, thanks so much Misses Pageau et Barrette!). I had no idea they existed, and now I think I have a new favourite band. Their style meshes disco, glam, rock and funk. They're totally crazy on stage, they talk a lot but not too much and they are very, very funny. Really a great night.

And now, my two favourite quotes of the night, both uttered by Ana Matronic, the girl in the band

"FAG stands for Filthy and Gorgeous"
"The party doesn't start until the tits come out"

The most beautiful part in my opinion was to see the crowd, as mixed as their music, dancing, screaming and going nuts. Hooray for diversity. Gay, straight, drag, woman, man, parents, children, wearing cosumes, not wearing costumes, looking like they were in costumes but actually wearing their normal clothes... honestly, that crowd was a very colorful one. Like the rainbow. Wink wink.

Here's a quiz for those who feel like answering in the comments: who can tell me what Scissor Sisters means? What it stands for? I'll give the answer in a few days if no one found it. Hehe.

So now it's Friday, I'm going to the store to buy their 2 albums! I'm going to leave you with their unforgettable single, I don't feel like dancing, an hommage ot the Bee Gees.
