It's Halloween, and I'm dressing up as a princess for the first time in my life! Yes, yours truly, who only owns black clothes, will ne covered in pink satin and sequins. Phew!
Il love Halloween, so to celebrate here are a few of my favourite Halloween songs for your party tonight.
Everyday is Halloween, Ministry
Thriller, Michael Jackson
This is a part of the movie 13 going on 30, girly movie that I really enjoy. The girl wakes up at 30 after falling asleep on her 13th birthday, in the '80s. At some point she goes to a boring party organized by the company she works for, and this is what happens...
Monster Mash, Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt Kickers
To me, the old version is the best. That being said, for you rock purists, there also is a version by the Misfits.
This is Halloween, Marilyn Manson
The theme song from Nightmare Before Christmas... by Marilyn Manson! He's got a sense of humour, that guy. For fun, here's the original, and a version by Panic at the disco.
Et vous, en quoi vous déguiserez-vous? Sortez-vous? Donnerez-vous des bonbons? Avez-vous décoré? Avez-vous des chansons d'Halloween préférées?
MTV, Harmonix and Apple Corps made it official today. It's a first interactive/video game presence for theBeatles. The game will bring players from Please Please Me all the way to Abbey Road. As of now, we don't know if the characters will ressemble John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Still, happy happy me, I'm quite excited at the idea of going through the whole Beatles catalogue on Rock Band! I got REALLY excited over Aerosmith on Guitar Hero, so you can imagine...
Barenaked Ladies' sing gets off easy for drug accusation. Austin Scaggs suggests a trial for sucking musically in the third degree. Hee hee. - Smoking section
New M.I.A song, Shells. - Perez Hilton
Montreal's Nightlife mag gets a makeover for it's 10th birthday [in French]. - Infopresse
A rumor says the Beatles could be in a Rock Band game to come. Cool! - Rolling Stone
He played all the songs we wanted to hear.
He even jammed some jazz. He played all the instruments at some point or other. If you like tightly knit shows with album versions of the songs, you weouldn't have liked it.
I, however, loved it.
Lenny has been my idol (and sex symbol) for ever, and I was totally enthralled.
He is a "true" rock star. You wish you could go on stage with him, he's terribly sure of himselg, but his arrogance is proportionnal to his talent. And, more important that anything, the only thing bigger than his ego is his generosity to the people seated before him.
Here's a slideshow of the pics I took during the show. Sorry if the quality sucks, my camera is broken and my phone doesn't have a flash. Still, they're fun to look at!
The next issue of Rolling Stone is about AC/DC (not all of it but still) - Rolling Stone
American debates are darn repetitive. Here's proof. - 236
YO! Majesty, Electro Lesbian Black American Rappers. Sammy Davis Jr has nothing on them. - Perez Hilton
Another book about Kurt Cobain. They say there are rareties in it. We'll see. - Rolling Stone
Led Zeppelin reunites without Robert Plant. To me, that means they aren't reuniting. - Rolling Stone
It's official, there will be elections in Quebec on December 8th. Yay. In the meantime, the US elections are coming up and Paris Hilton wants people to vote. So here's her new song and dance, and woes me, it's darn funny. Enjoy, below, Paris for President.
Anybloody, I've also discoveredJace Everett, singer of the series' theme song: Bad Things. It's neo-country with a sprinkle of rockabilly... and it's really darn good.
I'd do many "bad things" asked like that in that voice.
Today, I'm making a reading suggestion to those of you who know French. It's a relative success story in Quebec blogging entitled Ton papa me fourre. Loosely translated, it means 'Daddy fucks me'. Yeah, harsh. Just wait 'til you read it. Reality is harsh, dudes. Oh, but, is it really all true, what this guy writes? Dunno. Don't care. Reading someone's story, fictionnal or not, always means that you choose to believe. Right?
Rick Astley has been shortlisted for the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards, probably due to the Rickrolling craze.
He's up against Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Tokio Hotel, Green Day and U2 in the 'Best act ever' category.
TEAM RIIIIIIIICK! :)
